What is that Building?

A few people asked me about the building in the previous post. It is the American Standard Radiator Building. The guys over at WiredNewYork have a thread about it. Currently, the Bryant Park Hotel is operating there. There are many buildings with fabulous ‘crowns’ in NYC, but many of them are not as easy to see as this one is. Some other crowns can be found over at Deadprogrammer’s Cafe Here is a closer view of the crown :

Getting High on the Job

Construction Worker

Nikon D200, 28-105mm@105mm, f/10 1/640, ISO 200

There is a new building going up on 6th Ave. between 42nd and 43rd. I caught this construction worker doing his thing, and then he caught me doing mine. At first I thought he was working without a net, then I noticed a saftey line clipped to his back. WiredNewYork has some interesting background on this project and others.
